Jiyu Shin Masterclass

We are excited to be hosting Jiyu Shin also known as @julienflower, who will visit and teach you her amazing marshmallow flower techniques in November 2024. You don't want to miss this opportunity to learn from a genius master in the field!

Meet Jiyu Shin from Korea, a passionate expert in the intricate art of crafting flowers with edible dough. Her discovery of sugar flower-making was not just a profession, but a journey that filled her heart with excitement and happiness. Each creation brought her immense joy and satisfaction, a testament to her dedication and love for this craft.

In 2014, Jiyu established the Julie & Flower Studio to pursue her passion further and connect with diverse individuals interested in learning the art of flower making. Over time, she was invited by international institutions to give lectures. She even had the opportunity to publish a book in Korea.

In 2017, Jiyu founded the Korea Deco Flower Cake Association to showcase unique cake designs and promote their popularity. The association specializes in various materials such as bean paste, chocolate, marshmallows, and natural ingredients and continuously explores and develops unique techniques and designs.

Through her studio, Jiyu not only designs handmade floral creations and crafts exquisite works of art, but also provides comprehensive instruction to students. Her ultimate goal is to share the beauty and creativity of floral art with a global audience. Her commitment to this mission makes her a cherished teacher in this intricate craft, inspiring others to follow in her footsteps.

Marshmallow Flowers Masterclass 1
Flowers to be included in this class are Ranunculus, Phlox, David Austin Rose, Lavender, Eucalyptus.

Marshmallows can be used to create sugar flowers, offering a versatile and edible decoration for cakes and desserts. These edible creations make cakes and sweets more visually appealing and attractive. Whether you're decorating cakes for events, using them as flower-themed giveaways, or simply using them for decoration, these realistic and soft marshmallow flowers add a charming touch. They provide a joyful and creative alternative to traditional sugar flower decorations.

During the workshop, Jiyu will commence with the foundational knowledge of marshmallow flower crafting, guiding you through the intricate process of petal-by-petal creation, incorporating various colouring techniques to bring your creations to life, and instructing on the art of assembling these marshmallow flowers into beautiful bouquets. Jiyu's teaching will cover essential marshmallow flower-making skills, igniting your creativity and ensuring that you depart with the knowledge and confidence to create your own stunning marshmallow flowers.

📌 Jiyu Shin will hold two masterclasses in Hong Kong this time. Register for two classes in a row and receive a discounted tuition fee of HK$6,500.
